Today, The Gaslight Anthem posted on their Tumblr about their Swedish friend, Silvester. Silvester emailed the band about how he was going to release an album on his record label a year ago with his band, Civilisationen. However, only days before they sent the album to press, lead singer, Patrick Kejtson, commit suicide. Due to this tragedy, Civilisationen broke up and the album was never released.
After a year of mourning, the band decided to finally release the album. Included with the album is a bonus disc with some of Patrick’s solo recordings.
The disc contains a Swedish version of “The ’59 Sound”, the title track to The Gaslight Anthem’s sophomore album. Feel free to listen to to the cover here.
